Rectory Road BioBlitz

As Part of the City Nature Challenge

26 April - Rectory Road 10:00 - 12:00

What is a BioBlitz?

A BioBlitz is a form of citizen science where there is a concerted effort to document biodiversity within a particular setting. We’ll be documenting biodiversity at Rectory Road Station garden.

The City Nature Challenge is a global challenge to upload observations to iNaturalist to generate a robust snapshot of the living things within a particular city, to then be used in future research.

How to Participate?

1.     RSVP so we know you’re coming

2. Download the app iNat Next or iNaturalist and Seek by iNaturalist and create an account

3.     Join the Energy Garden Biodiversity 2025 Project on iNaturalist

4.     On the day, we will go through how to use the apps together and have extra resources to help with identification – no prior expertise is needed!

If you are interested, there are also some great online resources and tutorials for how to use them as well which can be found here: iNaturalist FAQs | Seek User Guide

The BioBlitz will be led by our Biodiversity Lead Ellen. Please email ellen@energygarden.org.uk if you have any further questions.
